My brother and his wife celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday. They live in New York. If life had gone according to plan, myself and my children would have visited New York last Easter. As it is, thanks to the pandemic, it has been nearly two years since I have seen my brother IRL.My parents are in a different country to me too; they are back home in Dublin, keeping themselves safe. I miss them and they miss me. But much greater than my sadness is my gratitude. I am so grateful for so many things: we are all safe and well, none of us is alone and a facetime call can put a smile on all our faces.
Many studies have shown that feeling gratitude is one of the guaranteed ways to make us feel more confident and more resilient. It does wonders for our wellbeing. Just a simple, daily act of giving thanks is all you need. Happy Thanksgiving!
